CHAPTER THREE
The Monsters Within
Though the modern world may know a million secrets, the ancient world knew one - and that was greater than the million; for the million secrets breed death, disaster, sorrow, selfishness, lust, and avarice, but the one secret confers life, light, and truth.[19]

The 108 monsters within are a living energetic language of entities known as demons, amongst many other names throughout history. There is a great deal of shrouded mystery around these entities. In the following pages, I lay the groundwork to uncover what has been hidden in plain sight, and start exploring how they relate to us and us to them.
There are monsters, created and fueled in the labyrinth of mind and imagination, such as those that hide underneath the bed or the ‘creatures in the closet’, waiting and just hoping that the door gets left open, even just a crack so that it can peer out at you. There are
monsters lurking at the bottom of cellar steps and the top of darkened stairways, around corners, in underpasses, and among dense trees. Ask anyone where they see monsters, and there will be common responses.
Though many monsters do walk among us, their true identities tend to be hidden, veiled by a host. We are these hosts. The real monsters are within us; some of the most dramatized and personally witnessed ‘possessions’ and other supernatural events of this sort are not from ghosts but rather from the entities of the 108.
It is because we are a vessel/host for these entities that the race of man can be the most vicious monsters on the planet. It does not matter how mankind may purport to solve crimes against one another—race wars, environmental atrocities, land wars, and so on—
because there will always be the negative-positive push-pull. Man, acting through the 108, will only create a new atrocity—or multiple—to make up for the one ‘solved’ or resolved.
These entities use the human body like a puppet master uses a marionette, making it so we become these monsters if we allow our selves the energetic push by sensational or emotional reactions and attachments. These entities are consumers by nature, and we surrender to their influence, resulting in addictive behaviors and patterns. We either allow them to pass through us, or we hold onto them and allow them to fester in the mind and body, internalizing and exacerbating the energies.
In these cases, we, in a fashion, become the monsters we should be working to rise above. If we leave these spirits to their own devices, they will take over the mind and body. When entities are given into willingly, it weakens and affects your future resolve and willpower, thereby making it easier for them to influence you again in the future.
The wellbeing and happiness of those around us as well as ourselves, if not understood and risen above in emotional intelligence, can be chaotic because of these entities. In a fashion, we need to work for the greater good, in a mind-frame such as: they are what they are, it is what it is. With no judgment, just a witnessing. Because truly, it will be what you make of it.
These entities coexist with our physical plane, but their phase of existence is known as the spirit plane, in which these spirit entities live outside of the view of the average person. The spirit plane is the place where our spirit also resides, as we are multidimensional beings existing on multiple planes and phases of existence at the same time. One of the reasons we typically do not see these spirits is that they are just out of the spectrum of viewing with only the use of our standard physical eyes, but we can sense them.
The 108 are the children of darkness as they are unseen, dark matter which makes them of the dark, while we humans are of the light, for we are visible matter. Hence a basic difference between matter and dark matter. This is why the ego is called the shadow self.
These spirits I refer to as the emotional energetic entities are the monsters within us and all around us, the fears and masks people wear. They are the creatures that are behind those nasty little flareups and character flaws, where the roots of sensual desire and the earthly desires reside. These are the binders that attach us to the grid matrix of the Dark Kingdom and clog our system and compete with our energetic spirit body to control the physical body as well as feed on the energetic body.
The physical body is a vessel, and our spirit body the captain of that vessel, unless you’ve let one of the 108 entities become captain.
We are a food source for them, though not so unique that we are their only food source. Animals, plants, and many other sentient living forms are food for them as well.
Spirit entities are energetic, like our spirit (soul), except that they are a parasitic energetic language comprised of entities that need a material host to be witnessed, experienced, and expressed on this physical plane.
We too are energy, though we currently wear a matter suit as a vessel. Our matter suit is precisely that: matter possessing mass and taking up space on this physical plane. The physical body can be viewed like an avatar in a virtual reality, being convinced by the
program that the virtual reality is the true reality through these attachments to it and the I.
The physical bodies are the vehicles the energetic entities seek to inhabit and inhibit, while feeding on the contained energetic body and corresponding system. The matter suit is a collection of matter in the individual cells, collectively making up a singularity, just as
single cells connect to make up the whole of a vast singularity, the physical body.
We are comprised of three separate bodies: the physical, the energetic body (spirit body) and conscious body.
We reference these energetic entities as an energetic language because we as humans, are all empathic to different degrees, feeling the emotional energy coming from others, making it an emotional language we also communicate with since these living emotional
energies are sentient and vary in the degrees to which they can be felt and expressed.
Just like humans, viruses, bacteria, etc., living energies can be regarded as beneficial or non-beneficial. Life forms most often work in cycling and exchanging energies, and with that exchange often comes the consuming of another life and its energy and matter. For physical life, the other life forms’ matter and energy are consumed to be converted into fueling energy. The simple truth is that living things live off other living things. We are a part of this cycle in many ways while still living flesh, and when we return to the earth, it uses our decomposing flesh to fuel new life.
Consider that everything is energy, and with everything being forms of energy, it makes sense that there are life forms that can and do feed on energy from the energetic bodies.
We can and do pass them around like a virus, and we do feel them on others, feeling the emotional state of others through our empathic abilities. Our empathic and intuitive abilities are like sense organs, an energetic interpretation antenna for these energetic entities. This empathic sense is how we feel emotions emanating from others.
When unfamiliar with the entities of emotion, we may take them on from others, or even feel as though we are experiencing an emotion although we may not know where it is coming from.
The entities of emotion are a part of us, just as we are a part of the Earth. We are separate, but not. For instance, we can travel inside or outside a house freely. They do the same, although we can be that house for them. Just as we can get trapped, so too can they be trapped by us from the identification of the aspects of emotion and sensation in the I. When you identify with the aspects of ego through mental, sensation and emotional attachment, there are varying degrees through the reaction and attachment to the physical through pleasure or displeasure, creating a mutual attachment.
To understand what these entities are, and parts of their purpose, becomes a tool in the arsenal. To allow them to travel freely is to allow them to be beneficial, learning what they have to offer without rejection or grasping of the experience. Otherwise, they create dynamic friction and blockages and mental, physical, and spiritual illness.
All cultures have names for these entities as there are many of them, able to affect us in our sleep and waking. They are responsible for night terrors and sleep paralysis as well as low to extreme levels of possession.
Some of the names for these entities over time, from different cultures around the world, are: Demons; Devil; Shaitan; Satan; Saten; Bhoot; Bhuta; Archons; Aeons Asuras; Mara; Mare; Druden; Rakshasa or Rakshasi; Old Hag; Djinn; Jinn; Genie; Jaini; Night Demon; Daimon; Daemon; Maneaters; Æsir; Daityas; Hungry Ghosts; Energy Vampires; Dybbuks; Incubus and Succubus, Demierge, amongst many others over the years.
These demons are also referred to as bonds, passions, worldly desires, earthy bodies, parasites, poisons, mind poisons, negative spirits, evil spirits, dark forces, ego, the fruit, kleshas, the 108 aspects of (lunar) ego, the 108 energetic emotional entities, the 108 earthly desires, the 108 defilements, defiled emotions, sin, vices, conditioning factors, masks, evil, impurities, energetic blockages, mental disturbances, attachments, deadly sins, mental illness, afflictions, destructive emotions, earthly defilements, etc.
The real names of these demons of ego are available to be known by the masses and seen for their true nature, lighting the path to self-awareness. So once again, they can move freely or even be harnessed through emotional intelligence, which I will be going over in more depth in later chapters.
And he said, That which cometh out of the man, that defileth the man. For from within, out of the heart of men, proceed evil thoughts, adulteries, fornications, murders, thefts, covetousness, wickedness, deceit, lasciviousness, an evil eye, blasphemy, pride,
foolishness: all these evil things come from within, and defilethe man. [20]

The 108 Monsters Within A - Z
Let us dive into the 108 Monsters Within.
Here, I provide a summary of the 108 in alphabetical order. The definitions are located at the end of the book in the 108 Monsters Within A - Z Glossary. The listed 108 are more defining descriptor names than the actual entities’ names. Note that names are not always
words. Some are a vibrational feeling, such as when experiencing a particular emotion coursing through the body.
This chapter is to bring awareness to each of the 108 so you can start identifying them. Later in the book, I will provide a few basic tools to rise above them.
108 A-Z

These are the basics of the roots of ego and of defiling actions. Secondary defiling emotional states stem from the primary 108 defilements. These secondaries are a result of engaging one or more of the primaries such as guilt, shame, anxiety, OCD obsessive compulsion, paranoia, insecurity, depression, unworthiness, irritability, etc. Though they may appear primary, they are results of the primaries. There are also divisions to be understood, so let’s get into those.
Divisions of the 108
Many do not realize these ‘demons’ exist, as they have fallen for the lie that these entities are a part of their personality, a behavioral problem or even a mental disorder. There is disharmony in the identification of these entities and the need for atonement.
There is a saying from Kurt Vonnegut, ‘We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.’ We are responsible for our actions, from our thoughts to our words and our deeds.
Emulating behavior over time becomes a habit, and so part of the character one designs for its self. We are who we create ourselves to be by every choice and action. There is always a cause and effect at work from thoughts, words and deeds that play out on the physical planes.
To better understand the means by which we may have lapses in reason when we enter the states of disharmony and the levels in which it would deplete our energetic currency, would be to understand how the defilements work. It helps to understand the levels and different ways of becoming separated from reason and the many manners and states encompassing them.
The defilements divide by reason of:
- Thought, word, deed.
- Past, present, future.
- State of conscience: formal and material.
- Act or state: actual and habitual.
- Person offended: sins against Source, against fellow man, against self, against animal, against planet, etc.
- Manner: commission, omission.
- Manifestation: internally or externally generated.
- Author: original and non-original (personal, actual).
- Attention: deliberate, half-deliberate.
- Cause: ignorance, fragility, malice.
- Cursing: sins against the spirit or sins that cry to the Heavens for vengeance.
- Psychological seeds.
Defiling actions, intentional or unintentional, are defiling whether we are aware or not. Ignorance is not a free pass, as ignorance and delusion are defiling actions independently. The moral compass and intuition guide us, and it is a choice not to listen!
The 108 defilements work in a threefold manner:
1. 108 earthly desires in mortals
2. 108 lies humans tell
3. 108 human delusions.
These defiling states of ego are also divided by thirty-six related to the past, thirty-six related to the present, and thirty-six related to the future, then by multiplying the senses smell, touch, taste, hearing, sight and mind/emotion by whether they are painful, pleasant or neutral, and then again by whether these are internally generated or externally occurring, which I will explore further in later chapters.
The ego and self dwell in the same body - the former eats the sweet and sour fruits of the tree of life liking the sweet, disliking the bitter, while the supreme self drinks sweet and bitter neither liking this nor disliking that. As long as we think we are the ego, we feel attached and fall into sorrow. But realize that you are the self, the Lord of life, and you will be freed from sorrow. When you realize that you are the self, supreme source of light, supreme source of love, you transcend the duality of life and enter into the unitive state. [21]

If you give into even seemingly harmless desires or defilements, you would notice that they all in some way reflect a thought, feeling, or act that is disharmonious or causes separation from the higher self and feeds the entities of ego.
A [practitioner] begins by understanding that true happiness does not fundamentally depend on changing external conditions, but rather on changing his own mind and the way it translates the circumstances of existence into happiness or frustration. He sees that as long as he is still not rid of hatred, obsession, pride, jealousy and the other mental poisons, it is as hopeless to expect happiness as it would be to hold his hand in a fire and hope not to be burnt.[22]

On a deeper level renunciation means understanding the transitory nature of thoughts, emotions, and sensations and cultivating the ability to let them go as they arise. Instead of following after them, you sustain an awareness of what is in the present moment, whether you’re in formal meditation or going about your daily life. [23]

In the development of virtuous character, one need adapts a calm, peaceful, gentle or saintly attitude, the attitude of a friend to all, the attitude of a mother toward her child, the attitude of a woman in love (devotion and humility), the attitude that divinity
is present everywhere in everything and non-thing (matterand non-matter). [25]

Developing these seven factors is conducive to dissolving the 108
aspects of ego emotional entities:
1. careful observation
2. curiosity and investigation of observed phenomena
3. effort and exertion
4. anticipation
5. calmness
6. immersion
7. equanimity.
Five sublime states:
1. benevolence
2. humility
3. compassion
4. appreciation
5. impartiality.
These states are prerequisite skills for accessing the Golden Kingdom as well as shifting through multiple other phases.
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. 17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do. 18 But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law. 19 Now the works of the flesh are evident: sexual immorality, impurity, sensuality, 20 idolatry, black magick, enmity, strife, jealousy, fits of anger, rivalries, dissensions, divisions, 21 envy, drunkenness, orgies, and things like these. I warn you, as I warned you before, that those who do such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. 22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness, self-control; against such things there is no law. 24 And those who belong to the Christ state have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 If we live by the Spirit, let us also keep in step with the Spirit.[26]
